Our Governors

 

Following is some short Following is some short information about each of our governors:

 Kerry Bryant – LA representative (2021 – 2023).

Kerry previously worked at Greenside as a teaching assistant.  She has over 20 years experience in learning and development working for a wide range of private and public sector organisations.
Kerry is currently employed by the charity MIND and has a particular interest in the wellbeing of learners, staff, and families.  

Filiz Campbell - Staff Governor (2021-2023)

Filiz is a Teaching Assistant at Greenside School. She joined Greenside in October 2011.
Filiz has undertaken extensive training, focusing on communication and autism. Filiz is currently undertaking an education degree in Early Years

Hilary Davies – Co-opted Governor (2018-2022)
Member of both the Resources and Curriculum Committees/Head's Performance Management

I became head teacher at Lady Zia Wernher primary school in Luton in September in 2018. It is a school for pupils with severe and profound learning difficulties, prior to that I served as a teacher and held leadership responsibility at Greenside school for 24 years. 
I have been involved in Special education for 30 years. I have a passion for pupils to be supported to discover meaningful independence and enabling staff to support pupils' learning through creativity and innovation. I have been involved in curriculum development, RE for all and therapeutic de-escalation strategies. I have lived in Stevenage for 30 years.

Paul is a qualified accountant. His son used to attend Greenside.

I have supported the school for 4 years, making up hampers for the school raffle, which has been successful. I am keen to continue to support the school and pupils in the years to come and help the school grow. I have experience in finance and having SEND child myself I can relate to parents concerns and work with all to get the best from the school for the community that use it.

Jo McNamara- Parent Governor (2020-2024)
Member of Resources Committee

Jo became a parent governor in January 2017, she has three children, Harry her middle child has attended Greenside since January 2016. Jo works as a Registered Manager for Hertfordshire’s Safeguarding and Specialist service and has worked with children from 0-18 with varying needs for 15 years. Jo is also a registered assessor working in childcare settings assessing across qualifications and supporting learners to develop their skills within schools, residential homes and early years provisions.

Dave Smith- Co-opted Governor – Chair of Governors (2018-2022)

Currently Chair of Governors at Greenside. Previously parent governor and vice chair of governors at Heathcote school since 1999 until it closed. I am currently a Paramedic with the London Ambulance Service and in my spare time I enjoy dog walking and exploring around the UK in my Campervan

Claire Streets Parent Governor (2022-2026)

Dave Victor – Head teacher Greenside School.
Term of office from September 2000 – ongoing
Member of both the Resources and Curriculum committees

Dave became a member of the Greenside governing body in September 2000, when he was appointed as Headteacher. Dave had previously been Head of Lancaster School, where he had also been a governor. Dave has extensive experience in special education. He has previously been an OfSTED inspector. Dave has a Batchelor’s as well as a Master Degree in Education. In 2001 he gained an MBA in education leadership, and a Diploma in Adult Education.  Dave has extensive experience of leading training for teachers, this has included teaching on a Master’s Degree courses at Essex University.
