This year a group of five students in Post 16 are studying photography. We began by exploring different poses and situations for taking pictures. We took each others portraits inspired by The Beatles Hard Days Night album cover and photo collages based on David Hockney. We also drew with a torch in a long exposure photograph. We made rayograms in the dark room based on Manray and built a sculpture out of shiny material and photographed it from different angles and with different lighting based on Moholy-Nagy.

National Portrait Gallery Workshop

We recently took a mixed group of students (5 from the senior department and 5 from Post 16) to the National Portrait Gallery for a special SEN photographic workshop. It was a fantastic day. We went to London on the train and then the Underground, were shown around the gallery and then dressed up as people from the portraits to have our photos taken.
